Apple Pomace Handling After Juice Pressing

Include apple pomace collection and removal in the pressing section, alongside juice recovery, equipment discharge and cleaning access.

Pomace is a separate outlet

Pressing creates a liquid juice stream and a separate pomace stream. Keep both visible in the material balance and layout. A plan that collects the juice but ignores press discharge can leave the extraction section constrained by material removal.

Match removal to the operating window

Identify discharge height, collection method and the frequency of removal. Continuous and cyclic pressing arrangements can create different collection patterns. Provide the intended destination for pomace without assuming a particular secondary processing or commercial use.

Use the same measurement basis

Weigh apples, collected juice and pomace over a common interval during the trial. Identify additions, retained material and start-up effects. A consistent record supports extraction assessment and helps define collection requirements.

Leave room for cleaning and access

Consider movement of collection containers, cleaning waste and maintenance access around the press. Keep these paths distinct from finished juice handling. Include the existing pomace arrangement when enquiring about a pressing-section upgrade.
