The press determines the useful mash
Crushing opens the fruit structure for juice extraction. The useful result is not simply the smallest particle size: the mash must drain and behave appropriately in the selected press. Compare crusher output and pressing results together using the intended apple supply.
Coordinate the feed and transfer
Specify the upstream washing discharge, crusher inlet and route to the press. Pump selection and pipe layout depend on the mash characteristics. Avoid choosing a transfer system solely from a water-flow rating, and identify hold-up points that extend the time between crushing and pressing.
Plan for access and wear
Ask how product-contact parts, screens and wear surfaces can be inspected, removed or cleaned. Check the space needed for maintenance and the separation of electrical components from washdown areas. Include cleaning interruptions in the daily operating schedule.
Compare a connected trial
Record fruit condition, the crushing arrangement, mash characteristics, transfer delay and press operating conditions. Measure the resulting juice and pomace streams over the same interval. These observations support a useful equipment comparison without relying on a universal extraction claim.
