Feed flow is not evaporation duty
A concentration system handles a feed stream, an outgoing concentrate stream and removed water. Each has a different quantity. State the flow basis and operating hours, then use compatible inlet and outlet soluble-solids measurements to establish a preliminary balance.
Describe the product across the duty
The juice changes as water is removed. Provide viscosity, fouling observations and the intended concentration range when available. A preliminary material balance does not determine equipment geometry, heat-transfer performance or the operating conditions needed for a particular product.
Identify energy and vacuum interfaces
Review heating services, cooling, vacuum, condensate and drainage with the proposed system. Distinguish average and peak demand. Any aroma-recovery or return arrangement needs a separate scope and evaluation against the required product.
Confirm the downstream handover
Define concentrate temperature and handling conditions, buffer arrangements and the filling or bulk-packing interface. Clear and cloudy concentrate projects have different finishing and product-evaluation needs. NFC juice does not need an evaporator merely because it is clear.
